Heep Hong Society and OUHK Collaborated to Offer Face to Face Degree Programme

Heep Hong Society has collaborated with The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) on the provision of top-up face to face mode of academic programme - Bachelor of Education with Honours in Early Childhood Education: Leadership and Special Educational Needs. Offering in Sept 2015, the programme equips students with professional knowledge and skills in teaching children with special needs through theoretical learning and practical training.

The programme comprises five cores courses designed and taught by our team of experienced Educational Psychologists and Therapists. They are namely ‘Early Assessment and Intervention’, ‘Teaching Pre-school Children with Dyslexia Tendencies’, ‘Characteristics, Assessment and Management of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Tendencies in Early Childhood’, ‘Supporting Young Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder’ and ‘Language Delay and Training’.

Since 2011, the Society has collaborated with OUHK to provide a series of systematic and professional distance-learning courses in special education with an aim to nurture more talents for the special education sector. The programmes are Higher Diploma and Bachelor of Education programmes in Early Childhood Education (Special Educational Needs), and Bachelor of Education with Honours in Early Childhood Education: Leadership and Special Educational Needs.

Dr Cheung Kwok-wah, Dean of School of Education and Languages, OUHK and Ms Nancy Tsang, Director of Heep Hong Society signed a partnership agreement to offer Face to Face Bachelor Degree programme in early childhood education.
