Heep Hong Society

Heep Hong Parents' Association

HHPA

Background

Support and care from parents are extremely important for the growth and development of special needs children. However, parents, themselves, at the same time, may suffer from immense pressure when taking care of their children. Heep Hong, therefore, grouped the parents of its centres since 1980 to promote mutual support among themselves, and formed a representative group to reflect parents' views on rehabilitation policies to the Government.

The Heep Hong Parents' Association was established at the end of 2001 under the testimony of Mrs Carrie Lam, the Director of Social Welfare at that time. The committee of the Association is formed by a group of members who is appointed by other parent members in each Heep Hong's centres.
