A Special Father’s Day – “Ocean Heaven” Preview Screening a Howling Success

Financial Secretary Mr John Tsang, Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Administration) Mr Fung Pak-yan and Commissioner for Rehabilitation Mr Stephen Sui joined some 250 parents and supporters of Heep Hong Society at the preview screening of the film “Ocean Heaven” on 20 June.

The film was about a terminally ill father grooming his autistic son to survive on his own. A sharing session was held immediately after the movie and some fathers unleashed their feelings and called for more understanding and acceptance of autistic people.

Through this event, Heep Hong Society aimed to raise public awareness of the needs of people with autism and to appeal for more resources to solve the protracted waiting list problem so that pre-school children with autism can receive timely training.

Thanks to the support of Edko Film Ltd and our enthusiastic friends, all charity tickets were sold out and the proceeds will be used to support the activities of the Father’s Club.
