Advanced Courses for Therapists in Collaboration with Two Universities to Enhance Professional Level

Ms Kimberly Barthel, an acclaimed expert in neurodevelopment and sensory integrative therapy from Canada, will deliver two advanced courses for over 100 occupational therapists, speech therapists and physiotherapists of Heep Hong Society in April to enhance their professional skills in training autistic children.
The first course named “Seeing through Autism” centers on clinical analysis and training of autistic children, will be organized in collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, between 7th – 8th April for Heep Hong’s occupational therapists.
The second course entitled “New Concepts in Sensory Integrative Therapy” focuses on the difficulties in sensory integration encountered by autistic children and training, will be jointly held with The Institute of Human Communicative Research, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, during 10th – 11th April for Heep Hong’s speech therapists and physiotherapists.
Ms Barthel is an experienced therapist for children. She shared her experience with counterparts around the world, and was invited to provide training to therapists in Hong Kong with impressive results.
